About the mountain chalet Markétka

Our mountain chalet Markétka was created thanks to our love for the Orlické Mountains. First we bought our own cottage. Over time, however, the idea was born in us to start offering accommodation in the heart of this beautiful nature to others. That is why we decided to buy a guesthouse, which we completely renovated and renamed Chata Markétka in 2022.

We strive to provide you with a family atmosphere and quality service that will keep you coming back. The surroundings of the Orlické Mountains have a lot to offer its visitors all year round. Therefore, we believe that you will fall in love with the charm of nature as we do and that our cottage will help you to relax and recharge your batteries for the next adventure. There is something for everyone: hiking, cycling, tennis, football, climbing, sightseeing trips, as well as winter sports such as cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, ski mountaineering, or even just relaxing activities such as wellness or a trip to the swimming pool.

Beautifully renovated cottage. We stayed in an apartment, everything new, clean and in a great location. The apartment has a kitchen with all equipment, living room, bedroom, bathroom with bath and entrance hall. You will find everything you need for your holiday. Kačenka fairy trail

Kačenka fairy trail

Do you know that Kačenka is considered the princess of Orlické Mountains? You can explore Kačenka's fairytale trail, which is located in nearby Deštné. The entire circuit is approximately 5 km long and 18 stops await you along the way surrounded by nature. At each of these stations you can read a fairy tale and complete a task. An integral part of individual stops are also interactive elements that aim to develop children. Along the route, you can refresh yourself in the stylish Kozí chlívek restaurant, where you can taste typical old Bohemian cuisine.

Velka Deštná

Velka Deštná

Velká Deštná rises to a height of 1,115 meters above sea level and is the highest peak of the Eagle Mountains. You can go there either on foot or by bike. The easiest ascent awaits you along the red hiking trail from Šerlich. If you are looking for something a little more difficult, you can go to the top from Bedřichovka or Zákoutí v Deštné. Since 2019, a 19-meter-high observation tower has been opened at the top, thanks to which you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surroundings. If you get hungry on the way, you can stop at the buffet in the mountain service hut at the Jirásk mountain path below the peak. But beware, it is only open on weekends.

Pastviny bobsleigh track

You can enjoy a ride full of adrenaline on Pastviny's bobsleigh track. A series of pleasantly banked turns and a fun drop at the end of the first lap await you. At the end, you can then look forward to the carousel high above the grassy beach. Children from the age of 3 can go on the track accompanied by their parents, from the age of 8 it is already possible to ride independently.

Adventure golf - a popular leisure activity in a mountain environment. The 18-hole course offers various obstacles. Individuals and groups play and the goal is to get the ball into the hole with the fewest number of strokes possible. A maximum of 6 strokes per hole, otherwise a penalty stroke follows.
